Koželj Wines
Koželj Wines in Ljubljana is a well-stocked wine shop offering wines from all corners of Slovenia, ranging from the largest and most prominent producers to smaller, more unique wineries. Here you can both buy and taste wines, accompanied by snacks. In many ways, this shop is the opposite of Štorija. Instead of a small, specialized selection, you’ll find a wide range and large variety in a well-organized store. The shop is beautifully located at Pogačarjev Square. Koželj is also a chain with locations in several cities across Slovenia.

Štorija
Štorija (“The Story”) is a fantastic little gem of a wine shop located on Trubarjeva street in Ljubljana. Most of the bottles come from small boutique wineries that are rarely found outside Slovenia. The owner, David Šinigoj, is passionate and a true expert on Slovenian wines.

Radovljica
Radovljica is our hometown in Slovenia. When we visit, we stay in our apartment there. The town is located in the Gorenjska region (Upper Carniola) and is rich in history, reflecting the different eras of the region. The town centre dates back to the Middle Ages. Today, Radovljica is known for its honey, beekeeping traditions, and chocolate, and it hosts an annual chocolate festival. Not far down in the valley below, the Sava Bohinjka and Sava Dolinka rivers merge to form the Sava River.

The old town beneath Ljubljana Castle is also particularly charming and deserves a visit. In most countries, the capital city would be at the top of a bucket list—but in Slovenia, Ljubljana faces stiff competition from the country’s many other outstanding attractions.

Korenika Moškon
Korenika-Moškon is a small but exceptional wine producer in Slovenian Istria. The winery is located in the village of Korte, high in the hills above Piran and Portorož. Sometimes we organize wine parties for our friends, and at one of these events, their orange wine Sulne came in second place, just behind a great Barbaresco from Ca’ del Baio in Piedmont.

It turned out to be a truly special spot that gave us a fantastic culinary experience. Far from a typical luxury restaurant or one with Michelin stars, this is on another level.
