Restaurant Rajh
The best restaurant visits are the ones where expectations are exceeded, and our visit to Restaurant Rajh was exactly that kind of experience. Naturally, we had high expectations after reading about the restaurant, but the food turned out to be even better than we had imagined. Located in the Prekmurje region, between Austria, Hungary, and the Mura River, the restaurant has a unique setting and character. We fell in love with the place and would happily return.

Piran Wall
The Piran city wall is one of the best spots for fantastic views and beautiful photos of Piran, unless you have a drone, of course. Although we have visited Piran countless times, it wasn’t until early April this year that we finally explored the wall. It was a wonderful spring day during Easter, with plenty of visitors, especially Slovenians and Italians. Given Piran’s proximity to Italy, the town attracts many day visitors.

Hiša (House) Polonka is a gostilna / trattoria run by Valter Kramar, co-owner of the three-Michelin-star restaurant Hiša Franko. Baffi House of Pizza
Not far from Bled, not far from the highway to Austria, and not far from our apartment, there is a pizzeria considered by many to be the best in Gorenjska (Upper Carniola). It serves perfectly prepared Neapolitan pizzas made with fresh local ingredients, best enjoyed with a craft beer or a glass of Slovenian wine. This is the perfect place to visit if you want to escape the tourist crowds in Bled and experience a slightly quieter, more authentic side of Slovenia. But, it is popular and fills up quickly, especially during the summer.

Piran
Ending the day in Piran after a full day along the Slovenian Adriatic coast is one of our favorite traditions. We do it almost every year when we are in Slovenia. There is much to love about Piran—the architecture, the narrow alleys, and, above all, enjoying a good dinner along the Prešeren Embankment while watching the sun set over the sea. Piran is unique in Slovenia.

Radovljica
Radovljica is our hometown in Slovenia. When we visit, we stay in our apartment there. The town is located in the Gorenjska region (Upper Carniola) and is rich in history, reflecting the different eras of the region. The town centre dates back to the Middle Ages. Today, Radovljica is known for its honey, beekeeping traditions, and chocolate, and it hosts an annual chocolate festival. Not far down in the valley below, the Sava Bohinjka and Sava Dolinka rivers merge to form the Sava River.
