Lake Jasna
Lake Jasna is a small but very scenic lake located just above the town of Kranjska Gora in the Julian Alps. You pass the lake on the way up to the Vršič Pass. The surrounding high mountains provide a beautiful backdrop. We often stop by Lake Jasna—sometimes on the way to another destination, sometimes for a coffee, and occasionally for a short swim.

Lake Bohinj
Lake Bohinj is located about 25 km southwest of Lake Bled. To get there, you drive from Bled through a long alpine valley, and it feels like entering a different world with a slower pace. Deeper into the alpine landscape, you’ll find significantly fewer tourists, more untouched nature, and a wilder, more authentic side of Slovenia.

Bled
Bled town and Lake Bled are probably the most well-known locations in Slovenia. When we are in the country, we stay not far from Lake Bled, which allows us to visit often—for swimming or simply enjoying a drink by the lake in the evening. We usually prefer to go by bicycle, as traffic in and out of Bled can cause long queues, especially during the summer when there are many tourists.
