Bled
Bled town and Lake Bled are probably the most well-known locations in Slovenia. When we are in the country, we stay not far from Lake Bled, which allows us to visit often—for swimming or simply enjoying a drink by the lake in the evening. We usually prefer to go by bicycle, as traffic in and out of Bled can cause long queues, especially during the summer when there are many tourists.

Logar Valley
The Logar Valley is considered one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in Europe and the Alps—and we couldn’t agree more. The valley lies on the eastern side of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, a region slightly off the main tourist routes and less visited than the Julian Alps. This gives the area a calmer atmosphere, allowing visitors to explore in peace and quiet.

Mount Blegoš
Blegoš, at 1,562 meters, is part of the pre-alps in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia and is the second-highest peak in the area. This part of Slovenia is relatively undiscovered and easy to overlook, making it a perfect destination for those seeking easier hikes away from the crowds. On clear days, you are rewarded with impressive panoramic views of Slovenia in all directions.

Peričnik Waterfall
The Peričnik Waterfall is located in the Vrata Valley, a few kilometers from the village of Mojstrana, which sits at the entrance to the valley. Peričnik is one of the taller waterfalls in Slovenia, and what makes it really special is that you can walk along a path behind the cascading water. The experience is thrilling, with the roar of the waterfall all around you—and you should expect to get a little wet!

Robanov Kot
Robanov Kot (Roban’s Corner) is a hidden gem in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, located near the Logar Valley. Like Logar Valley, it is a glacial valley. The sign from the main road is easy to miss, which adds to its sense of seclusion. We love visiting Robanov Kot for its solitude and untouched natural beauty. Several isolated farms in the valley are still in operation.
